Mental Health

Studying a Graduate Certificate or Master of Mental Health at UQ means being taught by over 20 researchers, educators and practitioners in various fields of mental health practice. All team members are actively engaged in practice and/or research and some occupy positions of professional leadership.

Graduate Certificate in Mental Health

The Graduate Certificate in Mental Health provides an introduction to the specialist knowledge and skills required for mental health practice. Students learn about the framework for mental health practice (policy, law and models of service delivery) and acquire clinical knowledge and skills in areas such as assessment, treatment planning and and widely used therapeutic interventions.

Graduate certificate courses form part of the Master of Mental Health programs and graduates of the Graduate Certificate can articulate into the Master of Mental Health.

Master of Mental Health

The Master of Mental Health is an addition to the introductory knowledge and skill addressed in the Graduate Certificate courses. The course is designed to meet training standards for specialist mental health practice. Advanced training in one or more areas of specialist mental health practice.
