Dr Ania Filus researches way to improve life outcomes for refugee children
How did you get into psychology?
During the last year of my high-school I couldn’t decide what I wanted to study. In the end I decided to study psychology because I was advised that it will be a good way to keep all my options open. After the first year I became interested in cross-cultural psychology. I remember my first lecture on culture and family, which showed me how much of what we do and how we behave is determined by social and cultural context. I also realized how much there is still to discover in the area of culture and human development, which inspired me to do research in order to fill in this gap.
What do you think makes a good psychology researcher?
