Based on decades of cumulative experience in the criminal justice system, in addition to the health system, our experts strongly support the notion of advancing the wellness and human rights of those with mental health challenges.

Focus is around three key components – early intervention, prevention and continued care.

Research is framed not solely around those who are incarcerated, but those who may also have contact with legal courts, police and watchhouses at various stages of their lives.

Similarly, attention is not only directed towards those facing or currently in the legal system, but also on preventing self-harm, post-traumatic stress and other negative consequences for those who have exited the system.
